What is "Ars et Labor" series?
These are, by all means, extremely rare pipes that are based on an innovative design, an exceptional way of utilizing the natural grain of the briar, or a combination of both. "Ars et Labor" are pipes that Bruto spends at least double the amount of time to design and make them. (He is also very attached to each and every one of them).

How come you've never seen or heard of them?
Simple: Only the prototype of a particular shape and/or grain (the very first one to be made) carries this exclusive name "Ars et Labor". Later, when Bruto has the time and energy (and is in the right frame of mind), he could duplicate them (never to down to every detail, naturally). The two pipes presented here are more than RARE. They are both true prototypes, carrying the name "Ars et Labor". We are able to offer them here, thanks to Bruto's generosity and friendship. We are proud to be the only site on-line that reveals this unique series, let alone offer TWO of them for sale. The prices, as we hope you will understand, are only symbolic. Remember, only ONE pipe of a unique grain and/or design can carry the name "Ars et Labor". Enjoy!

To do this pipe justice, the minimum we could do is offer a series of pictures to show you its beauty. We wish we could have included more!

Comment: This is definitely the BIGGEST smoking pipe I have ever seen, let alone one that is of a smooth natural finish. It's taken Bruto a year to make it, since he first cut the piece of wood. For a whole year, he kept checking it and weighing it till it was time to make a piece of art out of it. And, boy, did he do it! This is a pipe you can not hold in one hand. To render the idea clearer I put a tin of Escudo next to the pipe, as well as underneath it. I left a tiny bit of the tin (on the left-hand side of the pipe) to show you the tin IS there. Please count the inches/centimeters in the background and look at the unbelievable weight! In case you're wondering, an extra long pipe cleaner goes through the mouthpiece and shank like a hot knife through butter! The tobacco chamber measures 29.5mm in diameter and 77.2mm in depth!!!!!!! Ah, the bowl walls are 23mm thick, which is enough to make a pipe out of! This is most definitely a MUSEUM PIECE!
