The pouch aroma does tell you that this is going to be some potent smoke, and it is, at least for me. It smells of fully matured, strong VAs, with two shades of brown. It was a bit moist, as most of these tobaccos, but 10 minutes in the open air was enough to get it down to the right level. The taste at first is rather overwhelming and is similar to that of aged, spicy cigars. The strength is felt at first mainly in the throat, without being harsh. It settles down in the course of the smoke, and the sweetness becomes increasingly evident and attractive. It looks like a tobacco that could bite the tongue if puffed on too slowly. I recommend packing it lightly and smoking it in a small to medium size bowl. |
